What do you think of Faith Healer? Probably mostly frauds? I write this because I put up a meme from a Catholic that had a picture of Benny Hinn.. with the caption “You don’t see faith healers working in hospital for the same reason you don’t see psychics winning the lottery.’ As you can see faith healer are seen a frauds, only out to manipulate others for gain..
Benny Hinn is flamboyant.. But is possible he does have the gift of healing. Remember a charism exists f0r the Body of Christ. A person might have a charism but not be in a state of grace. In fact, a person might have a charism and use the gift for their own personal, financial gain. Lets say for argument that Benny Hinn had the gift of healing, and you or someone you loved had stage 4 cancer. What would you say if you or they were healed at his service. Benny Hinn said that ‘Catholics have more Miracles credits Eucharist.’ ( Church Pop.) He says ‘ They have just released a study more people are healed in Catholic Church than in Pentecostal churches.’ He then explains why ‘Because Catholic people revere the Eucharist.’ (Church Pop)
Jesus says to those asking for prayer, ‘Let it be done according to your faith.’ or ‘By faith you are healed.’ So everyone who prays for themselves or others is a faith healer. Faith is the door that allows Jesus to heal. Every priest ought to be a faith healer. When I give the Sacrament of Anointing I read the scripture ‘If you have the faith of the mustard seed.’
See faith healer have a bad rap. The very word faith healer, implies a fraud. I remember having a Mass and healing service at a local Catholic Church. There was about 500 people there, the Church was full. I went up to a lady, who I did not know, but it was obvious she could not walk on her won power. I said to her ‘want to walk with me to the other side of Church.’ Answer ‘No.’ and it was clear to me from the expression on her husband faith that this was a crazy suggestion. So I said ‘let walk to the statue of Mother Theresa.’ Which she said ‘Yes .’ We walked and on way back, I took my hand off of her and she made the last steps to her walker or wheel chair by herself. Now if she had fallen in front of the 500 people I have no doubts that I would have been called a fraud. So it was also a act of faith on my part, as well as hers.
Last year I got called to visit a lady at the hospital and she said ‘I am the lady that you got to walk at the healing Mass.’
