The writer Peter Kreeft writes ‘ Abortion is the Antichrist’s demonic parody of the Eucharist. That is why it uses the same holy words. ‘This is my body.’ with the blasphemoussly opposite meaning.’
When the Supreme Court over turned Roe on the Solemnity of the Scared Heart.. and on the day June 24 that the Church remembers the Nativity of John the Baptist. God timing on the day that the Church remembers the Nativity of God the Baptist.. John the Baptist is the patron saint of the unborn as he was the first person to recognize Jesus, while Jesus was in the womb. St Ambrose speaks of the divine mysteries that were taking place between Jesus in the womb of Mary and John in the womb of Elizabeth. The first person to recognize Jesus was an unborn baby. Jesus with the Love of His Sacred Heart leaves the 99 and go in search of the one lost sheep, in this case the baby in the womb.
It was Herod who killed the Holy Innocents when he heard about the baby Jesus. So John the Baptist leaping in the womb of Elizabeth undoes the evil f Herod in killing the holy innocents, babies 2 years and younger.
Abortion is an anti-sacrament of the Eucharist. Abortion is the glue that keeps the sexual revolution in place. That is why there is such rage at the prospect that abortion might been gone. Without abortion the sexual revolution falls apart. How is this possible?
At the root there is a philosophical error about freedom. American love freedom. But as John Paul II says ‘freedom is oriented towards truth.’ We are free because we are working towards an end. Freedom is not an end in itself. We love freedom but only as an end it itself. That we why many think a 8 year old should be about to pick his gender based on his/her feeling. Freedom is based on truth, and on responsibility.
The Supreme Court decision of overturning Roe is making clear that we no longer live in a Christian society. These truths are no longer self evident. Pope Benedict said that faith and reason are ‘two wings of the dove that bring us to God.’ Many aspects of society reject the Christian claims because they think we are basing our claims on mystical book, the Bible and and an invisible man in the sky. No our claims about the sin of abortion are based on reason that life begins at conception. But our faith does reinforce the truth that we are precious because we are made in the image of God. This is know by faith but it only reinforces what we know by reason that life begins at conception.
I saw in the decision of the Supreme Court an image of what it will be like when we meet Jesus face to face in Judgment. His judgment will be like wall that we can not break through. No matter what we think feel or believe. His judgment will strike many of us as unfair, as it will not seem to take into account our freedom, weakness.
Abortion is the keystone of the sexual revolution. Abortion is needed to create the illusion that sex can be only for pleasure, and have no reference to children or family. Abortion is needed in case contraception fails. Without abortion the sexual revolution falls apart. That is why the very idea that abortion might be lessen brings such anguish. In my mind, the Supreme Court decision in overturning Roe is an image of what will happen when we die and face judgment. God Judgment will seem unkind, unmerciful and it will look look like a wall that puts an end to what we think is our unlimited freedom. And because in many cases we have not learn to chaste the wall of God Judgment will fill us with fury. But those who desired to be chaste or even in their weaknesses fell into lust, but always sought to be pure of heart Jesus will look at them with Mercy and extend His Hand and carry them over the wall into Heaven. Jesus says ‘The tax collectors and prostitutes will enter the Kingdom of God before you.’
