I think I have a genuine insights into Charisms, gifts of the Holy Spirit.. now St Paul created the word Gift Charisms.. it didn’t exist as a word till St Paul.

Now St Paul was writing to Gentile Greeks such at Corinth.. where St Paul gives his most extensive teaching on charisms..

Now books like the Odyssey were known to Paul.. and this served the background for his teaching on Charisms.. such as odyssey Given Gift from Gods such as wine or divine wind, The idea that Greek hero’s were given gifts as they needed them.. to save them.

So St Paul teaching on gifts, God gives us gifts as we need them to defeat the enemies of God and our particular enemies.
Such as God would give you the charisms of writing that would go beyond your natural abilities to confound the enemies of God.

I think when St Paul was teaching about the Charisms of the Holy Spirit he was expounding on the Greek myths that saw the hero’s being given gifts as they needed them.

God does the same with us in giving us gifts of the Spirit.

Thus our life is like Odyssey who the God gives us the gifts as we need them, but the Gifts Charism of Holy Spirit are more powerful and can be obtain by asking seeking and receiving.
