I can googled and find the exact date…..I remember the day because I remember an event.. The day was May 7 1999.. because I was at the airport in Nice France.. and I was with a brother priest… and we were going to fly to Medjogorje… as we were at the airport we learn that the US accidentally bombed the Chinese Embassy In Yugoslavia..

My priest friend said ‘if Mary calls you she will take care of you.’ I for one was a bit scared of flying into an active war zone. I had to get to Zurich where my flight would be going back.

So he went off to Med.. Good for me that I meet 2 people that I had known before.. And we took a road trip…. first stop Switzerland, and a place called Grandson.. There was a castle there.

Spent a night in Avignon..

Found a hostel hotel.. if I remember correctly it was near the place where the Pope has his wine made.. It was Sunday morning.. So me and my 2 friends went to the local Church for mass. The Church that we happened to go to was where Saint Francis deSales was buried as well as St Jane de Chantal. So that was fortunate. To see where these 2 saints were buried.

I got to Zurich.. Meet my priest friend who landed there from Yogoslavia to fly back to US.

I did learn about 15 years later when I did go to Medjoorjie that Yes ‘If Mary calls you She will take care of you.’

I write this little thought on the feast of St Francis de Sales and how I happened to accidentally come across his body..
