St Therese Little Flower, Scapular!!!

Yesterday 2 people came to Mass at the hospital..asked me to go visit 2 people, and give the sacraments.. which I did..

While I left second room.. a lady asked me to gIve Last Rites to her husband.. he was going to be taken off of life support.. wife said ‘he was very Catholic’ give Last Rites/ litany of saints. Pray chaplet of Mercy.. saw that the wife had a 5 cent plastic scapular hanging from her pocket.: it was the kinda that I give out and wear, as I wear one each day and put it on a dying person.. but today I had already given my scapular to place on a dying person. The wife placed her scapular on him.. then she asked me ‘did I have a nicer scaplular?’ I thought this was a funny question at death any scapular will do.. and simpler the better as far as I am concerned.. but the question from the wife didn’t seem to be coming from vanity.. but something else.. I mean how many people are concerned about the quality of the fabric of a scapular.

This morning the next day.. I looked through all my stuff and found a really nice Brown Scapluar.

I go to the room.. I place the nice brown scapular on him.. he was just taken off of extraordinary life support, and he was about to die. His wife tells me he was the president of his local chapter of Lay Carmelites, and he spent much time teaching about Carmelite spiritually and making scapulars! So it seemed to me that St Therese wanted him to die clothed in Carmel, and that me bringing this nice scapular, was a sign that St Therese was here at his death as she wanted him to go to God in style. I blessed the scapular, and invoked the Carmelite saints, and then placed a small piece of the Eucharist on his tongue!!
