I often ask people are you a mountain person or a ocean person. The mountains speaks of God Majesty but the Oceans speak of His infinity, Mercy and Mystery. An interesting fact that the highest mountain peak in the world in is the ocean. Almost as image that the sea of God Mercy even contains the majesty of the Mountain Peaks.

As we are born naturally in water we are born supernaturally in water. The Priest prays these word over the water in the womb of the font at Baptism ‘ O God who by invisible power accomplish a wondrous effect through sacramental signs and who in many ways have prepared water your creation to show forth the grace of Baptism. O God, whose Spirit in the first moments of the world’s creation hovered over the waters, so that the very substance of water would even take to itself the power to sanctity.’

Pope Francis said that “God created water with Baptism in Mind.’ St Francis in the ‘Canticle of Creation’ says this about water ‘We praise and thank you, Lord for the gift of water…learn from it humility.’

We are mysteriously drawn to the ocrean.. we come from water we have salt in our blood, therefore we are mysterious drawn back to the water. The very name Mary the Virgin Mother of Jesus Maria means ‘Water Sea. We are drawn to the water in the same way sea we are drawn to Mary. And when we stand with out toes in the ocean edge we are feeling drawn to infinity, we are feeling drawn to our true home in Heaven.
