Jesus call us by name. You are more than a number you are a person. We have all gone to the store, department of Motor Vehicles and had to take a number.. We might have pulled 37, and we had to with a while till we heard on the intercom ticket number 37 please go to gate 6. Now this is a benign example. That yes sometime we have to wait till our number is called.

In the book of Revelation we read ‘anyone with a bit of wisdom can identify the person of the anti-christ for he is known as a number. As our society becomes less personal and more efficient, number become more important. You are known by your social security number. 

The anti-christ who was known by a number. took hideous form  when the Nazi would burn a number on the forearm of the jews and all those the nazi though unfit. There personhood  was lost and they were only a number. This was a scheme to devalue those who were less than human they are only a number. Which made me think. Could there be anything worse than just being a number. 

A number has substance. A number has some value. 

Could we, the devil who is behind, every sort of activity that makes us less than human come up with something that is more dehumanizing than being a number. And the answer is yes.. What is less humanizing than being a number are people who came to be ‘non binary’ meaning they are not even a number. My point is that many are not forced to have a number burned into their arm, to replace their identity with a number. But many  claim under the flame of freedom to willing say about themselves ‘non-binary.’ 

Of which Jesus would say, and those who love you and even those who do not know you.. You are more and than less than a number, you are a person.
