Feast of Holy Family

In the Sacramentary it is called ‘Feast of Jesus Mary and Joseph’ I would argue just for this feast it ought to be called ‘Feast of Jesus Joseph and Mary’ Joseph is guardian of the Jesus and husband of Mary. And he is called in the Litany ‘Head of the Holy Family’ Today In the Gospel Mary says ‘Your fathet and I have been looking for you. So Mary is pointing to Joseph as the head of the Holy Family.

So at least on the feast of Holy Family. I argue it should be called the feast of Jesus Joseph and Mary. I don’t think Mary would have taken offense at seeing Joseph as Head of the Holy Family. In a strong women and especially Mary believed in right order.

When I see the title on Holy Family as feast of Jesus Mary and Joseph’ as an unintended consequence I see Mary taking the role away from Joseph almost in a modern feminist way. Rather than helping to put Joseph in his right full place. She is the head in the Order. This is not a matter of Holiness. But if right order on Feast of Holy Family. Joseph is head of the Holy Family. And Mary says as much in today Gospel ‘Your Father and I have been looking for you’ And it says ‘Jesus was obedient to them’ So I would argue at least on Feast of Holy Family right order ought to be observed. Jesus Joseph and Mary.

I agree, Father. Honor they father and thy mother. Order matters to God, too, obviously. Order is God’s way and it protects us all! If not for St. Joseph knowing his dream was from God…Mary & Jesus would’ve been stoned to death. Thank God, God knows how to Love us Most His way! YAY! 😍

Feminist are lost children. We’d all be lost if we had that kind of mothering, too. The Cross, therefore, falls on loved children that had mothers that hold onto Mary and imitate Her way with Jesus… Listening to God’s every order so we can ALL know God’s way…God’s Holy Family Way!

I see God going to Mary first. Jesus came after Her “yes, God” & went to Her womb, & Joseph found out last. So I think the Feast of the Holy Family should be called the Feast of Jesus, Mary, & Joseph. Mother’s bring children into this world & fathers protect their wife & children by going to work to provide so the mother can nurture & care for her infant. Jesus came so He could shine His Light on His Divine Heart… His MOTHER/God’s Divine Being. It was because of Mary’s hard work as a mother that brought Jesus to Fruition…Jesus’ Passion. St. Joseph protected this hard work of Mary’s by providing for the Holy Family. Doesn’t Jesus give Testimony to His Mother’s Love by calling it His Divine Heart? Make Mothering Divine Again & brotherly Love will flourish = Heaven on earth = Jesus walking the Earth! Amen.

Divine Love is Jesus’ Light on His Mother’s Work. A Mother’s work of caring for her child, therefore, is Divine Love. A mother’s loving Work(imatitating Mary’s Work as a mother) produces brotherly Love. Jesus was always brotherly. God is Love. We all have a unique Piece of God in us. All mothers can imitate Mary & by doing so can bring all God’s gifts to Fruition/Passion.
