I was going out to dinner to a family at my new parish and I asked the grandmother.. a couple of years back.. do you have any relics to give me. She gave me a first class relic of St Therese and St A. Liguori, both of which I have away.
A Week and half ago.. I went to the house for dinner, and thinking of the 2 relics I gave away. I asked to do you have another St T.. Relic to give me, of which she gave me a first class relic of St Therese of Avila.. of which I am now holding as I write this. I don’t plan to give this relic away..
About 6 years ago or so.. I visited Spain.. and went to Avila and stayed at the monastery there.. in fact my room was the room where St Theresa was born..
Therese is St Theresa of A and St John of the Cross. I was just on a retreat with a master of the spiritual life.. and he mentioned that he like St John of Cross more than St T.. But he said ‘When St T is good she is very good.’
While I love them both.. I am much more a fan of St Theresa of A.. precisely for the reasons that other have trouble with her. You see St John of the Cross is very precise, while St Theresa of A is all over the place.. But I prefer the randomness and chattiness of St T.. where she skips around, as she thinks like me, or more exactly acts like me.. She gets me.
The retreat that I just came back from. The retreat master, who know more about the spiritual life than anyone I have ever meet or heard. quoted St Jane de Chantel ‘In the Spiritual life the method is there is no method.’ That is precisely while I prefer St Theresa of A.. that the primacy is given to Love and God can take you to the 7th mansion than to the 3rd mansion than to the 6th mansion, than after many years back to the first mansion where you feel like you are only just starting…

Way off course of subject? 😂 I asked my mom…but anyway she responded, “When Jesus turned water into wine before His time. I have wine but my mom never knew what a wine effect actually was(she never had a “buzz relief”(my mom never lied to me..EVER…I so much wanted to make her a weed brownie. Is wine any different than weed from the earth? I love wine & weed doesn’t work for me at all… but who am I to judge God’s given relief of pressure of world. ❤ Ps. Jesus gave His Mother wine request… I’d have loved to see my mom let go this way with “homemade brownie surprise” … but my mom has her Buzz now! August 20, 1939, Dec 24 2020 🥳Pss.
