Today in the first reading of the first letter of John ‘Beloved: Who then in the victor over the world, but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.’ (5:5)

Pope Francis wrote in his Apostolic Letter ‘Joy of the Gospel’ ‘One of the more serious temptations which stifles boldness and zeal is a defeatism which turns us into querulous and disillusioned pessimists, ‘Sourpusses.’ Nobody can go off to battle unless he is fully convinced of victory beforehand. If we start without confidence, we have already lost half of the battle and we bury our talents.’

We need ‘Holy Daring’

‘Since, then we have such a hope, we act with great boldness.’ (2 For 3:12)

‘I feel within me a holy daring being born.’ Saint Therese

Do we pray with confidence? When we go to battle in prayer, do we start our prayer already convinced of the victory that Jesus is going to give us.’

Do we pray confident of victory.

Our Lady of Victory pray for us!!!
