Praise report…

After Mass today.. Pentecost. A mother shared this story… I am guessing around 50 years ago, a priest just showed up at her home saying, ‘The Holy Spirit told me to come over and baptize you in the Holy Spirit.’ 

She had a son, who had some type of illness that prevented him for life from speaking in a legible way.. But she mentioned that after she was baptized in the Holy Spirit she could understand her son perfectly.. and this lasted for 30 years until he died.

We read from Acts this morning ‘Yet we hear them speaking in our own tongue.’  

I mentioned how St Thomas Aquinas interpreted this verse. He believed that the disciples were able to speak in the other languages. Other Fathers and Doctors of the Church thought that the while the disciples spoke what sounded like babble, they could understand what they were saying.. 

This woman experienced the second interpretation. While her son spoke what sounded like babble to others, she could understand him perfectly, after she was baptized in the Holy Spirit.
